The Living Coast

Where Ambition Meets the Tide

Stretching along Dimidium’s eastern shores, the Living Coast earns its name from the constant movement that defines it—ships arriving and departing, traders haggling in waterfront markets, and the eternal dance between tides and civilization. But beneath this visible bustle lies a deeper rhythm: ancient siren waterways pulsing beneath cobblestone streets, crystal matrices humming within harbor walls, and the subtle flow of power that connects everything to the sea.

Here, human ambition and siren craft have created something unique in all of Dimidium—settlements that exist in both worlds, with structures extending as far below the waterline as above it. The result is a coast where opportunities and dangers flow together like currents, where fortunes change with the tides, and where the boundary between water and land blurs in more ways than one.

The Three Great Ports

Port Theora: The Vertical City
The jewel of the coast rises in tiers from harbor to highlands, where ancient siren waterways weave through human construction. Crystal lifts carry goods and people between social strata, while hidden channels beneath the city harbor secrets the Guild would prefer remain submerged.

Corventos: The Spice Port
Where exotic scents mingle with the salt air and the Colorist Guild creates pigments in hues found nowhere else in Dimidium. Preservation matrices keep delicate goods fresh through long voyages, making Corventos essential to coastal trade—and giving its artisans dangerous leverage.

Mirrorhaven: The Desert’s Edge
Where harbor meets sand and water becomes more precious than gold. Glass towers reflect killing heat while powering the desalination matrices that make life possible. Every drop is measured, every allocation controlled—and everyone knows exactly who holds the power.

Beneath the Surface

But the coast holds more than its famous cities. Hidden fishing villages maintain traditions older than the Guild. Submerged libraries preserve knowledge from the days of true human-siren cooperation. Ancient lighthouses mark points along the shore, their keepers maintaining rituals no outsider fully understands.

And beneath it all runs the Dream Tide—that rare night when everyone along the coast shares identical visions of an underwater city that may be memory, prophecy, or something stranger still.
