Non-Fiction
The sea has always fascinated me because it embodies something essential: you can’t have the wonder without the danger, the explicable without the utterly unknowable.
I find that endlessly compelling.

Fathoms Deep is where I follow that compulsion — into maritime history, folklore, and legend. The myths sailors told about things they couldn’t explain. The mysteries that turned out to be real. The moment when folklore and physics converge and refuse to stay in their separate boxes.
It began as research for my fiction. Somewhere along the way I realised I was having too much fun to stop.
